Web · Salamat Pest Control, Qatar

Half the market could not find them

The site had an Arabic version. Google had never seen it. Not because it was blocked or thin, but because of a decision made early in the build that nobody revisits until the traffic never arrives.

  • Arabic and English, both indexable
  • 24 service areas
  • Doha, Qatar

The situation

A bilingual site that was only half indexed

Pest control is bought at the moment of need, in the language the customer thinks in, and almost always from a search. Everything in this project follows from that.

  1. 01

The Arabic site had no address

Language was resolved from a cookie, so every page lived at one URL. Googlebot sends no cookies — so every crawl saw English, and there was no second URL to point an hreflang tag at. The Arabic site was, to a search engine, not there.

  2. 02

    Local intent needs local pages

Somebody in Al Wakrah searches for their own area, not for the country. One page listing every district it covers ranks for none of them.

  3. 03

The customer already has the pest

They are not researching a category. They know it is cockroaches and they want the price and a phone number, in that order, on a phone, tonight.

  4. 04

Nobody fills in a form at 11pm

For urgent work the contact form is the wrong instrument. The route to a person has to be one tap and carry the context with it.

What we built

A page for every way they search

One site, two languages, and a separate indexable URL for every service, every area and every pest a customer might name.

  • Two real language trees

English on clean unprefixed URLs, Arabic on its own /ar paths, with hreflang linking the pair. Both are crawlable without a cookie, and a visitor who switches language keeps the page they were on.

  • Services and areas as their own pages

14 services and 24 service areas, each with its own URL, its own copy and its own structured data — rather than one page trying to rank for everything at once.

  • A pest library that answers first

Nine pest entries covering what the customer is actually looking at, what it means and what the treatment involves. It brings in the searches that start with a problem rather than a service.

  • WhatsApp as the primary route

Every service and area page opens WhatsApp with the subject already filled in, so whoever answers knows what the enquiry is about before they reply. The form stays for people who prefer it.

  • Structured data that matches reality

LocalBusiness markup built from the company's real Google Business Profile — its own listing id and coordinates, not a geocoded address string, which had been resolving to the wrong part of the city.

  • Proof a home-services buyer looks for

Real job photography, transparent pricing, technician profiles, FAQs and reviews — the material somebody checks before letting a stranger into their home.

What changed

A site a search engine can read in both languages

Every service, area and pest now has an address of its own in Arabic and in English, declared in the sitemap and tied together with hreflang. The Arabic half of the market can finally arrive on an Arabic page.

  • Arabic and English served from separate, crawlable URLs
  • hreflang pairs declared so neither version competes with the other
  • Local business data drawn from the company's own Google listing
  • Every enquiry route carries the service or area it came from
  • 37

    Page types across both languages

  • 24

    Service areas, each indexable

  • 1

Tap from a service page to a person

Is your Arabic site actually being indexed?

It is worth checking. The failure is silent — the pages exist, they look right, and the traffic simply never comes.
